What’s the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan?

The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan is a new payment option in the prescription drug law that works with your current drug coverage to help you manage your out-of-pocket costs for drugs covered by your plan by spreading them across the calendar year (January–December).

Starting in 2025, anyone with a Medicare drug plan or Medicare health plan with drug coverage (like a Medicare Advantage Plan with drug coverage) can use this payment option.

All plans offer this payment option, and participation is voluntary.

This payment option might help you manage your monthly expenses, but it doesn’t save you money or lower your drug costs.

The unit is a state-of-the-art, fully-equipped medical unit that provides well child visits. The ROADS team is comprised of a nurse practitioner and a nurse.  Dental services are provided through CareSouth Carolina’s Miles of Smiles Mobile Dental Unit.  Children receive comprehensive

and emergency oral care from a dental team made up of a dentist and a dental hygienist at the school. Also provided at the schools is School Based Behavioral Health Counseling Services.  CareSouth Carolina has licensed mental health providers on-site to provide private counseling services.

“CareSouth Carolina has been engaged with Chesterfield County Schools in a multi-faceted partnership since 2010 when we began our Miles of Smiles dental program, a unique program using transportable equipment along with a dentist, hygienist and other support staff, into four Chesterfield County Schools,” says Ann Lewis, CEO at CareSouth Carolina. “Since that time, we added our ROADS team services, a mobile van with a nurse practitioner providing wellness visits in thirteen schools and behavioral health services with a behavioral health counselor located in seven schools.  Without the visionary cooperation and coordination from Dr. Harrison Goodwin, Superintendent, and Chris Price, Executive Director of Admin and Student Services, frankly, none of this would have been possible.  The needs in Chesterfield County often may seem overwhelming, but it is with partnerships such as this that we can all come together and make a significant difference.”

CareSouth Carolina partnership with Chesterfield County School District has provided Chesterfield County School children to receive CareSouth Carolina’s award-winning, patient-centered health and life services.
