CareSouth Carolina welcomes Gilberto Sanchez, FNP-C, to Bennettsville office

CareSouth Carolina welcomes Gilberto Sanchez, FNP-C, as the newest provider in the Bennettsville Main office.

A native of Marlboro County, Sanchez said he is looking forward to being back home in Wallace after spending several years away from the area.

“I’m really looking forward to being back closer to my family,” Sanchez said. “CareSouth Carolina is well-known and I really wanted to give back to my community. This made it a perfect fit.”

Sanchez attended Francis Marion University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and then later earned a Master’s degree in Nursing—Family Nurse Practitioner—at South University in Savannah, GA.

Sanchez has served as a Family Nurse Practitioner at several different organizations including Optum (Greensboro, NC); Matrix Medical (Scottsdale, AZ); Wheel Health (Austin, TX); Medfirst Primary and Urgent Care (Indian Land, SC); and MinuteClinc (Rock Hill, SC). Prior to his work as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Sanchez served as a Registered Nurse in many different settings including Atrium Health (Emergency Room RN); Trinity Health Care (Emergency Room Travel RN); Carolinas Hospital System (ICU/ER Float RN); and McLeod Regional Medical System (Emergency Room RN).

Back in Marlboro County, Sanchez said he is most looking forward to building relationships with patients and helping them to achieve their health goals.

“I don’t meet a stranger,” Sanchez said. “I am very open to communication with my patients and always there to answer questions. Being a nurse at my core, I really value that personal connection with patients and that’s one of the things I love about being back in Bennettsville. You get to know people and their families and build relationships with patients.”

Outside of work, Sanchez enjoys spending time with his family, pets and traveling.
