CareSouth Carolina is proud to welcome Deedra Sanders, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, as a Family Nurse Practitioner joining the organization’s Value-Based Care Team. In her role, Sanders will focus on annual wellness visits, preventive screenings, and expanding access to care for patients across multiple CareSouth Carolina locations.
Sanders brings more than a decade of healthcare and nursing experience, along with a strong passion for preventive care and patient education. As part of the Value-Based Care Team, she will work alongside providers to ensure patients receive the time, resources, and guidance needed to better understand their health and stay ahead of potential concerns.
“Preventive care is such an important part of what we do,” Sanders said. “It gives us the opportunity to really sit down with patients, talk through screenings, and help them understand what steps they can take to stay healthy. That time and education can make a real difference.”
Sanders is no stranger to CareSouth Carolina. During her nurse practitioner training, she completed three of her four clinical rotations within the organization, gaining firsthand experience with its patient-centered approach and deep community involvement.
“That experience played a big role in my decision to come back,” Sanders said. “CareSouth Carolina is very involved in the community and serves so many different populations, especially in rural areas. The people are welcoming, the resources are there, and you can really see how much the organization cares about its patients.”
Through her work, Sanders is particularly focused on helping patients access preventive services and understand their healthcare options. She believes that taking the time to educate patients and connect them with available resources can lead to meaningful, long-term improvements in health outcomes.
“When you’re able to come alongside patients and guide them through their care, you start to see real change,” she said. “That’s the most rewarding part—knowing you’ve made an impact and helped someone improve their health.”
Outside of work, Sanders enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and spending quality time with her family.
