CareSouth Carolina Supports “No Shave November” to Raise Awareness for Men’s Health

CareSouth Carolina is taking part in No Shave November, a month-long campaign that encourages men to put down their razors and focus on raising awareness for health conditions that impact them most—particularly cancer, heart disease, and mental health.

The initiative is about more than skipping a shave. It’s a reminder that men often neglect their own health until it becomes a serious concern. According to the CDC, men are 50% less likely than women to visit the doctor for preventive care. This campaign gives CareSouth Carolina an opportunity to help change that pattern through education, outreach, and access to care.

Throughout November, CareSouth Carolina clinics will highlight men’s health resources and encourage regular screenings that can lead to earlier detection and better outcomes.

Key facts about men’s health:

  • 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime.
  • Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among men in the U.S.
  • 1 in 8 men will experience depression at some point, but fewer than half seek help.
  • Preventive screenings can reduce the risk of serious illness and increase treatment success rates.

CareSouth Carolina is encouraging patients to schedule annual checkups and recognize the importance of screenings and supporting total wellness.
