CareSouth Carolina Honors Dr. Helene Goldsmith with Community Partnership Award

CareSouth Carolina is proud to announce Dr. Helene Goldsmith, Executive Director of the Palmetto Center, as the recipient of its Community Partnership Award. The award recognizes individuals and organizations who demonstrate outstanding dedication to collaboration, patient care, and community impact across the Pee Dee region.

Dr. Goldsmith and the Palmetto Center have been pivotal partners to CareSouth Carolina for many years, working hand-in-hand to ensure that individuals struggling with substance use disorders receive the care, support, and resources needed to recover and thrive.

“We have such a great longstanding partnership with Palmetto Center,” said Amy Cook, Director of Behavioral Health at CareSouth Carolina. “Dr. Goldsmith is truly instrumental in helping us navigate care coordination for patients in need of treatment. We’re incredibly grateful for a facility where individuals not only receive treatment but also learn valuable life skills—skills that help them move forward and live healthy lives free from substance use.”

In response to the award, Dr. Goldsmith shared her appreciation and emphasized the importance of united efforts in the community.

“Strong partnerships among healthcare providers are the pillar of meaningful addiction recovery and community health wellness,” said Dr. Goldsmith. “In South Carolina, collaboration isn’t just a choice—it’s a commitment to saving lives, restoring hope, and building healthier futures. She continued, “I wanted to let CareSouth Carolina know how deeply honored I was to receive the award for Partnership, 2025. This recognition not only highlights my commitment to serving South Carolinians, but also underscores the collaborative effort and CareSouth’s unwavering commitment to our community. Service to others is its own greatest reward, but your acknowledgment is truly uplifting. I will continue to advocate and work towards our shared goals for a better community in healthcare services.”
