The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan is a new payment option in the prescription drug law that works with your current drug coverage to help you manage your out-of-pocket costs for drugs covered by your plan by spreading them across the calendar year (January–December).
Starting in 2025, anyone with a Medicare drug plan or Medicare health plan with drug coverage (like a Medicare Advantage Plan with drug coverage) can use this payment option.
All plans offer this payment option, and participation is voluntary.
This payment option might help you manage your monthly expenses, but it doesn’t save you money or lower your drug costs.

SOCIETY HILL – CareSouth Carolina will celebrate the opening of its newest CSC Community Pharmacy location with a ribbon cutting scheduled for 12 noon on Wednesday, January 30.
The community pharmacy, at 737 South Main Street, is the sixth pharmacy location for CareSouth Carolina and represents an investment of more than $70,000 in the Pee Dee.
“The pharmacy will be meeting a need to all that live in Society Hill and its surrounding areas,” CEO Ann Lewis said. “The heart of CareSouth Carolina is providing the best accessible medical care for everyone. This pharmacy is another example of CareSouth Carolina growing for its patients and the communities we serve.”
Before the opening of the CSC Community pharmacy in December, Society Hill was without a local pharmacy for more than a year.
Ashley Singleton, pharmacist in charge at CareSouth Carolina, said CareSouth Carolina is looking forward to being invested in the Society Hill community for years to come.
“We’re very excited to bring a pharmacy back to that area and hope to provide excellent care and service to the residents of Society Hill,” Singleton said. “We want those residents to have the ability to have a local ‘mom and pops’ pharmacy where the staff knows you by name and you are given the help you need.”
Singleton said the pharmacy is an excellent complement to the existing CareSouth Carolina medical facility, located in the same building.
“Since we already have a medical provider there, it really helps us to expand access to care,” Singleton said. “Putting a pharmacy there on site helps us to be able to offer more services to our patients and to those residents in the area that don’t have a pharmacy. It’s a one-stop-shop.”
The Pharmacist in Charge at the Society Hill location is Mary Hinson and there is a staff of three technicians on-site.
CSC Community Pharmacy looks to provide excellent service and affordable prices on prescriptions. The pharmacy offers next-day delivery to all CareSouth Carolina medical centers and the community pharmacy is open to all, even if they are not a patient of CareSouth Carolina.
In addition to Society Hill, CSC Community has pharmacy locations in Hartsville, Bennettsville, Bishopville, Latta and Cheraw.
The CSC Community Pharmacy in Society Hill can be reached at 843-378-4148 and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patients can also download the mobile app, Mobile Rx, which will allow them to manage and fill their prescriptions online.
