CareSouth Carolina Breaks Ground on McColl Building

September 29th 2017

CareSouth Carolina officially broke ground on its new McColl Health and Wellness Center

located at 3080 Highway 15-401E in McColl at a 2:00pm ceremony on September 27th.  On hand for the ceremony were representatives from the C.W. and Dorothy G. Love Foundation, Representative Pat Henegan , Town of McColl, Marlboro County Council, Marlboro County Chamber of Commerce, CareSouth Carolina staff and board members.

“CareSouth Carolina has been invested in the McColl community for nearly three decades,” said Ann Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of CareSouth Carolina. “With the generous support from the C.W. and Dorothy G. Love Foundation, we can now bring that commitment to the next level.”

The new facility, with a total of 28,992 square feet, more than quadruples CareSouth Carolina’s capacity to provide services to Marlboro county and surrounding areas. In addition to the services provided at the current location, the new facility will provide space for additional primary care providers, dental services, x-ray, ultrasound, and a pharmacy with a drive thru.  The larger facility will also house a state of the art Cardiac Rehab with a therapy pool and whirlpool, a gym with exercise equipment, coffee bar and a teaching kitchen.

“This has been a very long time in the making,” said Lewis. “We have outgrown our current location and this new facility will definitely fix the space problem and provide much needed expanded services to the area.”

Presently, CareSouth Carolina employs 13 medical professionals in McColl. Current staff includes Dr. George Moore, Family Practice; Sylvia Watts, FNP, Family Practice; Tara Coburn, LMSW, Clinical Counseling.
