Job Description
The ROADS Blended Medical Assistant collaborates closely with both administrative and clinical staff to support a wide range of non-clinical and clinical tasks, as needed. This role serves as a vital member of both teams, performing duties across administrative and clinical areas based on departmental needs. The duties include but are not limited to:
- Accurately processes new and duplicate enrollment forms to ensure timely completion of records for the upcoming school sessions.
- Assists the clinical team with insurance verification questions.
- Collaborate with the ROADS clinical team to ensure an efficient and seamless workflow.
- Maintains the assigned school’s OneDrive folder with up-to-date documentation.
- Manages the flow of patients by promptly and thoroughly entering patient information into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Provides the documentation of the following at every visit: vital signs (including the presence and degree of pain), allergies, and a review of the patient’s medication.
- Performs routine administrative tasks including patient check-in, insurance authorization, and processing of co-payments, etc.
- Conducts PHQ screenings by CareSouth Carolina guidelines.
- Completes an annual learning needs assessment.
- Assists in the cleaning and upkeep of ROADS mobile units, maintaining a clean and functional workspace.
- Supports the clinical partner with the daily setup and breakdown of mobile units when assigned to the Mobile Unit location.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. An associate's degree is preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited (AAMA) Medical Assistant Program and keep CMA/RMA certification up to date.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Zero (0) to one (1) year of experience in the field or related field.
- Must have a current CPR certification.
- Ability to adjust quickly to changes, including last-minute schedule changes.
- Pay close attention to details.
- Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, including appointment scheduling, explaining policies of the facility, and/or relaying patients needs to appropriate personnel.
- Proficient with EMR systems and can provide detailed patient charting clearly and accurately.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
