Position Description

The primary responsibilities of the Pharmacist include, but are not limited to: review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability; check prescriptions that have been filled by technicians for accuracy as it pertains to patient, medication, dosage, count, and directions; provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage; analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions, maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, system files, inventories, control records, and registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs, advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment and health-care supplies, collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics; and compound and dispense medications as prescribed by authorized healthcare providers by calculating, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities.

Education and Experience

  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of South Carolina
  • A Master of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree is required
  • Retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • BLS certification is required

Hours

The CSC Community Pharmacies are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 6:00. The pharmacist works four 10-hour days per week.

Locations

The pharmacist will float between all of the pharmacies – Bishopville, Hartsville, Society Hill, Chesterfield, Cheraw, Bennettsville, McColl, Dillon, and Latta.
