Job Description

The Electrician Helper supports the Journeyman Electrician in maintaining and repairing electrical systems across the organization’s healthcare facilities. This role assists with routine electrical work, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. The Electrician Helper works under direction and ensures all tasks are completed safely and in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. The duties include:

• Assist the Journeyman Electrician with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
• Perform basic electrical tasks under supervision, including pulling wire, replacing fixtures, and assisting with equipment installation
• Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering tools, materials, and information needed for repairs
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner
• Follow all safety procedures, electrical guidelines, and infection control protocols
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities for electrical and facility systems
• Transport materials and supplies between job sites as needed
• Observe and learn proper electrical techniques and code requirements (NEC)
• Respond to routine maintenance requests and assist with urgent issues as directed
• Completes required training and maintains compliance with organizational systems (e.g., Relias, PowerDMS)
• Willingly assists with other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic maintenance or construction experience preferred

Preferred:

• Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program
• Technical or trade school training in electrical or a related field
• Prior experience in facilities or healthcare environments

 

Location

This position’s base location is Hartsville, but the position requires working at all CareSouth Carolina locations. A company vehicle is provided.

 

Hours

Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
