Job Description

Functioning under the clinical guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer, the medical assistant participates in the assessment and care of clinic patients. This involves a variety of tasks requiring judgment born of solid knowledge and expertise in general nursing theory. Primary responsibility is to assist in the assessment and care of patients within the scope of her/his training limitations. May perform limited exams, take vital signs, and perform laboratory tests within regulatory limitations.

Education and Experience

  • High school graduation or GED equivalent is required
  • Completion of a formal program that results in the designation of a medical assistant is required
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Current CPR certification is required
  • One to three years of experience as a CMA/RMA in a physician's office or community healthcare setting is strongly preferred

Hours

Monday – Friday; 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
