Transportation Specialist

Job Description

Provides transportation support to the Dental Department. Duties will include but not be limited to the relocation of mobile dental provider teams on a daily basis. This involves the loading and unloading of heavy dental equipment and the transportation of equipment on a box truck. Drive and maintain dental medical unit (DMU) to/from scheduled location; maintain the DMU, this includes water supply, emptying of waste, routine maintenance, and exterior cleaning of vehicles; assist with the maintenance and minor repair of dental equipment; and performs other duties as deemed necessary.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
  • Class B CDL required. Air brake endorsement is strongly preferred
  • Must have a clean driving record that will deem eligibility under our automobile insurance
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Delivery experience preferred
  • Experience loading/unloading equipment/heavy goods preferred
  • Must be mechanically inclined with experience in minor equipment repair
  • Must be able to lift and move 100 pounds without accommodation
  • Must have basic computer navigation skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills required
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day and/or evening hours

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.
  • Standing up to four or more hours at a time on a daily basis.
  • Stooping and bending on an hourly basis.
  • Climbing stairs on a daily basis.
  • Reaching and grasping objects and materials. Pushing and pulling.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Color vision, the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to hear.

Location

Society Hill, SC

Hours

Four 10-hour weekdays per week. Hours will normally be 7:00 am – 6:00 pm. Occasionally will require work outside of the normal schedule and on Saturday.

Proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 must be presented prior to beginning work with CareSouth Carolina.
