Human Resources Coordinator

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Staffing & Development Manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for various functions supporting the hiring, onboarding, and development of employees. This position requires providing support and coordination using the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of the Human Resources department. The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the background check process to include OIG exclusion, sex offender registry, criminal records, verification of employment, and employment reference checks.
  • Assists HR Recruiter with the completion of the new hire file packets – review file and notify recruiter of any deficiencies or unacceptable documents; if packet is incomplete, communicate with new employee to obtain missing documents; and advise Staffing & Development Manager, as necessary.
  • Upon hire of a new employee and closing of the job requisition, will be responsible for sending timely communication to the applicants that were not hired for the position.
  • Daily review applicants in Kronos and contact applicants who have not applied for a specific position regarding the application and positions of possible interest.
  • In collaboration with the Training & Development Coordinator, responsible for capturing employee training in the learning management system. This includes building training module in Relias, enrolling employee, and finalizing training to include date completed.
  • Arrange placement for Nurse Practitioner, Nursing, Medical Assistants, and Phlebotomy students requesting clinical rotations for various schools. This requires collaboration and coordination with schools, students, and site administrators.
  • Under the direction of the Staffing & Development Manager, will coordinate recruitment, education, and job fairs. This involves working closely with the schools, South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, etc. to collect the relevant information, registration for the event, communicate with the recruiters, and prepare materials for the event. As needed, will assist the recruiter at the event.
  • Updates and maintains employee information in Streamline Verify (exclusion database).
  • Keeps record of employee automobile insurance coverage, notifying the AP department of coverage for employee travel reimbursement.

Education and Experience

  • Two (2) year degree
  • One (1) to three (3) years’ human resources experience preferred
  • Certification as a PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP strongly preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office and Windows) are required.
  • Ability to self-educate and develop a thorough knowledge of HR related laws and regulations, JCAHO standards, HRSA requirements, and performance improvement techniques.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Monday – Friday. 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
