CareSouth Carolina is now administering the Fall COVID-19 Vaccine at its medical offices and pediatric offices. The vaccine is only available to CareSouth Carolina patients and is offered free of charge. Pediatric patients need to make appointments at the pediatric offices, while adult patients can receive their booster at other CareSouth Carolina offices by either walking in or scheduling an appointment.

Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (Blended Assistant)
Functioning under the clinical guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer, the role of the Blended Assistant (CMA/RMA) is to accompany the provider into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the provider’s encounter with the patient and others present in the electronic health record. He/she will be responsible to list all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the provider and to document any procedures performed by the physician. When not functioning as a Scribe, the medical assistant participates in the assessment and care of clinic patients. This involves a variety of tasks requiring judgment born of solid knowledge and expertise in general nursing theory. May perform limited exams, take vital signs or perform laboratory tests within regulatory limitations.
High school graduation and completion of a formal program that results in the designation of a medical assistant is required
Must be Certified or Registered as a medical assistant
Current CPR certification is required
One to three years of experience as a medical assistant is strongly preferred
Experience using an EMR/EHR system is preferred
