The responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Technician include but are not limited to:
Interact with patients and employees in a respectful and confidential manner consistent with the mission and values of CareSouth Carolina.
Enter payments and adjustments as indicated by Insurance EOBs and private pays into CPM
Billing: Electronic transmission of insurances; hard-copy claims, patient statements
Account Aging: “Work” aged accounts by re-billing, contact insurances and/or patients, applying appropriate adjustments.
Claims Denials: Correct billing rejections; adjust accounts to reflect insurance terminations and/or effective dates.
Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the position. Willingly performs other duties as required.
High school diploma or equivalent required
One (1) to three (3) years’ medical billing & coding experience required
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have the ability to work under stress and remain calm under pressure
Must be a team player
