|  CareSouth Carolina is the only Community Health Center in the nation designated as an Area Agency on Aging. Vantage Point, a division of CareSouth Carolina, is a partnership between CareSouth Carolina, older citizens and other organizations. Vantage Point works for the advantage of senior citizens. Our purpose is to provide seniors convenient access to the programs and services they need to remain active and independent. Vantage Point identifies the needs of seniors and plans and coordinates programs to have those needs fulfilled. Vantage Point offers assistance in obtaining transportation, home bound, and congregate meals, home care, legal assistance and health promotion services. Insurance counseling, senior employment, and rental assistance are other vital services provided by Vantage Point. Vantage Point is an organization dedicated to helping seniors maintain their health and enhance the quality of their lives. It is also an organization that values the contributions seniors have made and continue to make. At its core, Vantage Point treats seniors with the respect and dignity they have earned.
I–Care is a volunteer Insurance Counseling and Assistance program for senior citizens sponsored by the South Carolina Office of the Lieutenant Governor - Office on Aging. For an appointment with an I–Care counselor or if you would like to volunteer to be a counselor, call Vantage Point at 843.383.8632 ext. 163 ask for Sherry Johnson. Family Caregiver Support Program The Family Caregiver Support Program was created to help families sustain their efforts to care for an older relative who has a chronic illness or disability. The term “Family Caregiver” means an adult family member or an individual, who is an informal provider of in-home and community care to an older individual (60 years or older).The Family Caregiver Support Program also includes services to “grandparents (over 60) raising grandchildren”. Information, Referral and Assistance ProgramThe Information, Referral and Assistance Program consist of a computerized database and an in-house directory that contains national, state, regional and local information on services available to seniors and disabled persons.
