Success Stories

Luke Garner
Patient of Dr. George Moore, Jr. at the
McColl Center
Luke Garner suffered a disability in
2009. Unfortunately, he didn’t have health insurance and was
living on a fixed income. Conditions like high cholesterol
made certain medications critical to his health.
“The medicines I needed were so expensive.
I couldn’t afford them. But, some friends told me about
CareSouth Carolina,” he says. “I started going to CareSouth in
Bennettsville, but switched to McColl to see Dr. Moore. Being
old-school like me, we connected. He’s a very smart,
common-sense doctor who takes his time with me.”
After coming to see Dr. Moore at the
CareSouth Carolina McColl Center, Luke says Pat Graham, Patient
Advocate, connected him to the CSC Community Pharmacy. With her
help, he was able to afford the medications that he desperately
needed.
“At the CareSouth pharmacy, you can get
your medicines for a lot less than you can get through anywhere
else,” he says. “Pat really went above and beyond doing
research and finding out ways to help”
Luke doesn’t limit his praise to Pat,
however. To him, the entire CareSouth Carolina staff deserve
praise for the work they do.
“All the staff are wonderful,” he says.
“They don’t make you feel like a patient when you’re there.
It’s enjoyable. They’re local, down to earth, really
personable. The people at CareSouth do a marvelous job. They
always go above and beyond to help the patient.”

Mollie G. MCcoll
Patient of Patricia E. Weaver, APNP-BC,
at the Cheraw Center
After 17 years at the same employer, Mollie
G. MCcoll was laid off of work. She went back to school, but
she had lost her income and her health insurance. She has
hypertension, high cholesterol and other conditions that make
having a family doctor a necessity.
“My doctor in Florence went into another
practice, and I had lost my insurance,” she says. “I didn’t
know what to do. My medicines are necessary, but they were so
high I couldn’t pay for them. Someone told me I could go to
CareSouth, and, naturally, I fell in love. I started to go to
Ms. Weaver at CareSouth in Cheraw, and it’s been excellent for
me. It’s been awesome! ”
Even though Mollie sees Pat Weaver, APNP-BC,
Nurse Practitioner at CareSouth Carolina’s Center in Cheraw, she
is able to pick up her medicines closer to home in McColl. The
CSC Community Pharmacy housed in Hartsville provides next-day
delivery to all CareSouth Carolina medical centers. She says
that has been a godsend. She can now afford health care and her
prescriptions, and it’s made a huge difference in her health and
her life.
“I’m just so glad CareSouth is here,” she
says. “I love everyone there. They are wonderful people.
Wonderful service. They are like family to me.”

Millie Reppert
Patient of Syliva McCoy, CFNP, McColl
Center
Millie Reppert lost her job in Myrtle Beach
and moved to McColl, South Carolina because the beach had simply
become too expensive. She had to do something to make ends meet
as best she could.
“CareSouth Carolina was a lifeline for me,
“she says. “I had no job, no income – a complete lack of
funds. And, I needed a doctor. Two or three people I know
referred me to CareSouth. I saw Ms. Sylvia in McColl. I just
love Ms. Sylvia. We did a lot of talking. They took care of me
without money. They took care of all my prescriptions! When I
became someone who had a little more money, I continued to come
back because of how well they treated me. They are wonderful
human beings.”
She says she is extremely grateful that
CareSouth is in her community. The CSC Community Pharmacy, she
says, has been one of the best things that could have happened
to her. If it wasn’t for CareSouth’s ability to get the
prescriptions she needed at a cost she could afford, she doesn’t
know where she would be now.
“I’m so glad CareSouth is here,” she says.
“I get wonderful care. The pharmacy and Pat (Pat Graham,
Patient Advocate) have been wonderful. I get my medicines when
I need them. I could go somewhere else now or get my medicine
somewhere else, but why would I? I’m doing so much better,
and I want to give back what I can and let everyone know how
wonderful it is at CareSouth Carolina.”
