Family Practice
CareSouth Carolina offers a full range of primary care services at all of our centers, providing comprehensive medical care for all members of the family, from infants to the elderly. Because we are committed to the idea that prevention is better than treatment, we also strive to help our patients develop good health habits.

Gynecological Services
At CareSouth Carolina, we feel a special commitment to provide for the needs of women. CareSouth Carolina offers extensive gynecological services. We emphasize what we call "well–woman gynecology." In addition, our health care providers are sensitive to the special needs of women and are committed to helping our patients become more active in promoting their own health and well–being.

We provide a full range of women’s services including annual exams, ultrasounds for OB/GYN evaluations, pap smears, family planning and screening for sexually transmitted infections. Also included are the most modern Diagnostic and procedures and treatments, including colposcopy, cervical biopsy, cryosurgery, and others.

Obstetrical Services
Prenatal care is the heart of our approach to obstetrical services. CareSouth Carolina encourages pregnant women to receive the care they need to achieve successful pregnancies and healthy babies. We remove the barriers to comprehensive prenatal and infant care. Our prenatal care includes family–planning counseling, social services, and nutritional counseling to help with the special needs of women during pregnancy.

Pediatric Services
Pediatric care is a vital part of our Family Practice and includes care of both sick and well infants and children. CareSouth Carolina participates in the Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) program which emphasizes routine check–ups and the early diagnosis and treatment of problems. We are dedicated to seeing our youngest clients receive the full benefit of modern preventative medicine and offer a full immunization program.

Geriatric Services
CareSouth Carolina realizes that providing excellent geriatric health care is becoming increasingly important as our population becomes progressively older. Our staff is specially trained in the care of older adults. We are aware of their special needs and we are uncompromising in offering exceptional geriatric services. A perfect example of our commitment to mature adults can be seen in the services we provide through Vantage Point.

Nutrition Services
Nutrition Services are a significant part of any health program. Our staff provides comprehensive individual and family nutritional counseling in the areas of weight control, prenatal and postnatal counseling, infant feeding, diabetes, heart disease, cholesterol, hypertension and others. Currently, CareSouth Carolina is undergoing a partnership with the University of South Carolina where patients with diabetes can receive specific nutritional guidance on how to manage their diet with the disease.

Health Education
Health Education is central to our medical programs. By helping patients become more knowledgeable, we help them to become more competent in monitoring their own health. We offer educational assistance to diabetics, people with high blood pressure and other chronic illnesses as well as those suffering from behavioral health conditions like depression. CareSouth Carolina staff help our clients understand and manage their conditions better. Family planning education programs are also available.

Self Management

Self Management, as a central component of the Care Model that was adopted to proactively treat chronic disease, has dramatically improved the health of patients at CareSouth Carolina. CareSouth patients play a central role in managing their condition.  It not only includes increasing knowledge; it also means increasing confidence and skills that ultimately translates into patient ownership of his or her health status.  CareSouth Carolina clinicians and patients work together to define problems, set goals and create individualized treatment plans that assimilate actual lifestyles and behavior outside the medical office.

Laboratory
CareSouth Carolina’s laboratories are capable of conducting a comprehensive battery of standard medical tests at our centers. Our labs employ the strictest standards of quality control and quality assurance. A computer link is available to provide rapid results when off–site labs must be used.

Radiology
CareSouth Carolina’s X–Ray department offers routine X–Ray procedures of the chest, extremities, spine and abdomen. We also offer hearing tests and Holter Monitor tests. CareSouth Carolina also has on–site ultrasound capabilities for obstetrical and gynecological evaluations.
