COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
CareSouth Carolina is a communityowned organization, and we are firmly committed to the principle that healthy communities contribute to healthy individuals. Health care, we believe, is directly connected to community issues such as economic development and education as well as access to social and medical services. As a result, we take an aggressive approach to developing innovative programs that reach out into the community and improve health care.
CareSouth Carolina, through its community development
division, mobilizes grassroots efforts around specific
issues like health disparities, barriers to access, chronic
conditions, infant mortality and others. We involve the
people who live in the community in the planning and
development of the health care services and delivery system
they need and envision for their specific community. As
part of those efforts, CareSouth Carolina has partnered with
the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association’s
Health Care Access for All campaign to improve the
health care infrastructure of the communities it serves.
Staff work with community members and organizations to
garner and assess community input, put together workable
plans for the future and help facilitate the implementation
of those plans to better the health of residents and the
community’s health care system.
Outreach Services
CareSouth Carolina continues to seek and invest in outreach services to clients in the communities we serve. By building partnerships with other social organizations in combination with our own initiatives, we provide clients help with issues such as substance abuse, prenatal care and others. We strive to provide services directly to clients out in the community, helping them achieve a better quality of life.
Community Partnerships
CareSouth Carolina continues to build and cultivate relationships with other organizations, private and public, that help to improve the overall health of people in the community. Our partners vary from the local chambers of commerce and fellow health providers to major industries and national coalitions. We speak on various physical, mental and emotional health issues to civic organizations, schools, church groups and others on the local level and continue to be invited to share our success on a state and national level.
