CareFirst Steps Up for CSC

Amber L. Landsman, Public Affairs, Policy & Communications Specialist at the Verizon Foundation, presented a check to CareSouth Carolina CEO Ann Lewis. CareSouth Carolina is the recipient of a $7,200 cash grant from the Verizon Foundation for the purpose of improving its information technology infrastructure and, as a result, improving the level of care it provides to patients.

According to Landsman, “Verizon has partnered with CareSouth Carolina to advance the use of broadband technology and communications services, so as to increase the efficiency of rural healthcare and improve access to patient information throughout this area of the state."

“We at CareSouth Carolina are extremely pleased, and appreciative, that the Verizon Foundation recognized the need and the improved impact we will have on patient outcomes in the Pee Dee,” Lewis said.  “Information technology serves as the backbone of improved patient care.   We have had lots of success providing care to those most in need in our area.   Now, we can do even more.”
