![]() CareSouth Carolina has once again received the gold seal of approval from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. CSC joins only 18 ambulatory care facilities in the state with JCAHO accreditation. CareSouth Carolina underwent an unannounced four day survey April 9th through April 12th. During the final meeting, the chief surveyor said, “If any organization deserves the Joint Commission Gold Seal, it is CareSouth Carolina.” “The Joint Commission accreditation represents the ‘gold standard’ in health care,” says Ann Lewis, executive director of CareSouth Carolina. “It provides the most comprehensive evaluation process in the health care industry, and it places us among the elite, a very select number of organizations in the nation. To say that we are pleased and proud of this accomplishment is an understatement.” “This is a wonderful accomplishment,” says Mary Garvin, chair of CareSouth Carolina’s Board of Directors. “I’m very proud to be part of an organization that not only provides health care to the uninsured people in our area, but also provides it with such excellence.” CareSouth Carolina received its first three-year accreditation by JCAHO in November of 2000.
