Notes from the Employee Council
CareFirst
Steps Up for CSC |
The
following issues are being addressed or have recently been addressed by
the employee council. The issues come to the council through employee
feedback to a council representative or as requested by senior
leadership. As an employee, if there are any issues that you would like
to see addressed by the Employee Council or have comments about any of
the issues below, feel free to discuss them with a council
representative.
- Develop a
casual dress policy that helps to maintain a professional demeanor.
- Furniture
repaired at the Lakeview site.
- A forum by
which activities of the council can be shared with all employees
(Departmental Meetings and CareWired).
- Supply order
form streamlined so that duplication of orders do not happen and so
that employees have the opportunity to get what they need in order
to do their job.
- Patients and
clients know who is and who is not an employee by requiring name
badges to be worn at all times on the job.
- A provider at
each site at all times so that patients will always have access to
care.
- Site meetings
are conducted regularly to ensure communication of vital information
to all staff.
- All IT
equipment works properly and that computers are used for job-related
activities and are not abused for personal reasons.
- CareFirst
Casual Wednesday to all sites (after all, it is for a good cause).
- Written policy
for recognizing employee (with cards or flowers or whatever is
appropriate) who has lost a loved one.
- Develop more
continuity with policy from one site to the next.
- Patient
information more secure by requiring certain areas where information
must be acquired more private.
- Patient
complaints get addressed to the proper person.
- Reduce the
amount of paperwork required of patients and staff.
- A new bonus
started for employees who are loyal and show commitment to CSC
- All employees
can go to their supervisor or site manager and be honest, open and
respected to share ideas or problems without worry.
- Employee
Satisfaction Survey made more concise and meaningful for both the
employee and for management.
Remember, the
Employee Council serves as a communications tool, a conduit, between the
employees and management that is crucial to the success of CareSouth
Carolina. Please continue to listen up for other issues as they
arise. The council is devoted to keeping everyone posted and
up-to-date.
