Over the past few months, the employee council has continued to advocate for items and issues that are designed to address and improve the ability of CSC staff to communicate and provide services to patients and clients effectively.    Just a few of the items the council is working on include 1) getting bulletin boards up at each site for sharing of employee information such as church and civic fundraising activities, baby or wedding showers, and other activities employees want to share with one another; 2) the establishment of an on-line staff directory with name, title and phone extension for all employees; 3) employee council self-imposed term limits of one year with the opportunity to extend year by year by site vote; 4) possibly having photo ID badges for security reasons;  5) spotlighting different medical centers and programs at departmental meetings so that all employees will know who they are, what they do and their special accomplishments; and 6) development of cultural diversity and sensitivity training.  A couple of things that have been advocated for by the council and already achieved include the new Ann Lewis blog available through our website – www.caresouth-carolina.com and the new Ann Lewis suggestion box.    The Council meets monthly to discuss what works and what doesn’t at CSC.  They dialog with the Executive Management team on their discussions and priorities.  The Council are non-management representatives who give a voice to all employees. If there are any issues that you would like to see addressed by the Employee Council or have comments about the issues currently being discussed, feel free to discuss them with a council representative.
